Democrats will run foreign policy???

Please take special note of this sentence by Teddy Kennedy.

"I think we are dealing with the situation. I was personally opposed to the war but that was yesterday," he said. "I think that what we are trying to do now is (decide) how we proceed now. That's really the challenge."

Doesnt this say a lot.
It says that now that dems have won he isnt against the war.
It says that the Dems used the war as a political tool.
It says that they abused President Bush as a political ploy.
It says that they havent a clue as to how to proceed.
It says they fooled enough Democrats to get elected ,now they have to come up with some sort of plan.

I've been staying out of the political discussions thus far, however I must ask:

If you say it doesn't say a lot, why do you read so much into an article you clearly don't understand.

Who is the "they" of which you speak?
What political ploy? Please give us an example.
Who fooled the Democrats to get elected? How did they get fooled, examples please so I can understand. Perhaps you have a point, however it isn't clear.

I believe if you read the article it would be more clear.

The they is the Democrat party and Ted Kennedy. By saying that he was opposed to the war, but that was yesterday ,it certainly implies that Tuesdays election results have changed Teddy's views. If his views were changed ,why did an election change them? Obviously since Teddys views have changed overnight , the democrats were using the war as a club , to beat the President over the head. Using Iraq to get elected. The media was certainly a great help to them in this. Since Kennedy himself has changed his mind overnight ,merely because the election was won by Democrats,it seems pretty obvious that he did not change his mind, fooled the Democrats into what he was saying, not what he believed. One does not say about a war, I was opposed to it ,but that was yesterday, merely because of an election.

I suppose someone else could read that and not get much out of it , especially if they were Democrat.

I didnt say it doesnt say a lot I should have punctuated that with a question mark, my bad. It really does say a lot. It says that Ted Kennedy is a phony.

Read that sentence again... it doesn't say "This doesn't say a lot" ... it says "doesn't this say a lot"

As in: "This says a lot"

He then goes on to analyze the ways one could read between the lines.

Don't do that, please. I've always found you to be intelligent and thought-provoking.

And I'd like to keep thinking that way.

Okay, how about this… After-the-election Kennedy quote: "I think we are dealing with the situation. I was personally opposed to the war but that was yesterday," he said. "I think that what we are trying to do now is (decide) how we proceed now. That's really the challenge."

This, in and of itself, “I was personally opposed to the war but that was yesterday” pretty much sums it up. But let me provide you with some quotes from Kennedy:

Sep 2003:

There was no imminent threat. This was made up in Texas, announced in January to the Republican leadership that war was going to take place and was going to be good politically. This whole thing was a fraud.

No wait… Let’s go back to 2002 (before the war):

There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein's regime is a serious danger, that he is a tyrant, and that his pursuit of lethal weapons of mass destruction cannot be tolerated. He must be disarmed.

No wait... 2004

Before the war, week after week after week we were told lie after lie after lie after lie. If the president's war is revealed as mindless, needless, senseless, reckless, the American people all know this, our allies know it, our soldiers know it.

2004:

Today, we say the only thing we have to fear is four more years of George Bush.

One more reminder about the NEW Kennedy today…

“I was personally opposed to the war but that was yesterday…”

So what was your question about political ploy again???????

In all fairness to Ted Kennedy...

He may have been in an alcohol enduce fugue when he said all of these things. Or suffering from DT's.

Or exhausted from hiding bodies. Or he could've been distracted from trying to leverage law enforcement for the benefit of family members.
