Desantis did say appropriate level of force, which to an actual working brain would mean respond with the same level of force being presented. In the case of Ashli Babbit, she was unarmed so deadly force was inappropriate. If the invaders are attacking with AK47s, which they have carried over the border many times, then deadly force may be appropriate.
