CINCINNATI, Ohio (AP) -- The man who designed the Pringles potato chip packaging system was so proud of his accomplishment that a portion of his ashes has been buried in one of the iconic cans.

The man who designed the Pringles can had part of his cremated remains buried in one, his family says.

Fredric J. Baur, of Cincinnati, died May 4 at Vitas Hospice in Cincinnati, his family said. He was 89.

Baur's children said they honored his request to bury him in one of the cans by placing part of his cremated remains in a Pringles container in his grave in suburban Springfield Township.

Would a creamted body fill up a Pringles container? Or would it only be fartially full?

On average, how full would a Pringles container be if creamted remains were placed inside?

Just wondering.....

Well, I don't have any experience with human remains, but I can tell you a 2 year old Holstein steer's remains take up 3.5 paper boxes. That's a lotta remains.

It would be too much for one Pringles can......except at Walmart where it would be about 2/3's for the same price.

I used to work at a cemetery and I've seen the containers that cremated remains are in before they are put in their decorative urns and believe it or not, an average size person would overfill a pringles can.

So, if one were to pick up a regular-sized Pringles canister AND a SnackPak-sized canister, that the remains of an "average"-sized adult human would fit in them?

This is good to know. :yay:

I dont see the big deal in inventing the Pringles can . He just took a toilet paper roll made it bigger and placed a metal bottom in it.
