PGPD Detectives Arrest Man in Domestic-Related Homicide in the Town of Capitol Heights

Homicide Unit detectives arrested a suspect in connection with a domestic-related homicide Tuesday evening in the town of Capitol Heights. He is 25-year-old Daquan Odemns of the 5800 block of Folgate Court in Capitol Heights. He’s charged with fatally shooting 31-year-old Donte Young of Waldorf.

On August 13th, at about 6:50 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5800 block of Folgate Court for a shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation reveals Odemns fatally shot the victim during an argument. The victim and Odemns’ girlfriend are estranged spouses.

Odemns is charged with first degree murder and related charges. He’s being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides in the town of Capitol Heights.
