PGPD Detectives Arrest Suspect for Fatal Shooting in City of New Carrollton

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested the suspect wanted for a recent fatal shooting in the City of New Carrollton. The suspect is 22-year-old Daahme Carroll of the 5400 block of 85thAvenue in New Carrollton. He’s charged in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Talante Brown of Silver Spring and also shooting a second man who survived his injuries.
On October 7th, 2020, at approximately 7:55 pm, officers with the New Carrollton Police Department responded to a shooting in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue. Brown was located outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second victim, an adult male, was also shot. Preliminarily, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation revealed Carroll shot both victims during an argument.

Carroll is charged with first degree murder, first degree attempted murder, assault and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A court commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status.

The PGPD investigates all homicides that occur in the City of New Carrollton.
