Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested two males in connection with a fatal shooting in Oxon Hill late Monday night. They are identified as 20-year-old Roger Beckwith Jr., of the 600 block of Saint Anns Avenue in Baltimore and 15-year-old Mark Lechoco of the 500 block of Red Coat Place in Fort Washington. Lechoco is charged as an adult in this case.
On September 30th, at approximately 10:40 pm, patrol officers responded to the 400 block of Winslow Road for the report of a shooting. Officers discovered the victim, 19-year-old Bryant Brooks, outside suffering from gunshot wounds. Brooks was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals Lechoco arranged an illegal drug transaction with the victim. During that transaction, Beckwith shot the victim during an attempted robbery.
