PGPD Detectives Charge Suspect for Fatal Shooting in Capitol Heights

Homicide Unit detectives charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Capitol Heights Tuesday afternoon. The suspect is 46-year-old Kerrick Daniels of Washington, DC. He’s charged with fatally shooting 42-year-old Francis Bwaku of Capitol Heights.


On December 7, 2021, at approximately 1:10 pm, officers responded to the 6600 block of Ronald Road for a shooting. When officers arrived, they located the victim inside of an apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during an argument. Daniels and Bwaku were known to each other. Daniels is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections and is being held on a no-bond status.
