The Homicide Unit identified and charged a suspect for a recent fatal shooting in Laurel. The suspect is a 17-year-old male, who is charged as an adult, with the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Antoine Lee Riley of Laurel.
On July 24, 2021, at approximately 1:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 13300 block of Laurel Bowie Road for a reported shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim outside suffering from a gunshot wound. Riley was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during a dispute. The suspect and victim were known to each other.
The suspect is charged with first and second degree murder and weapons related charges. He is in custody in Oklahoma awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
