Homicide Unit detectives charged a man in connection with a fatal shooting on Saturday afternoon. The suspect is 40-year-old Guy Young of the 5700 block of Cypress Creek Drive. He is charged with fatally shooting 33-year-old Samuel Wright of no fixed address.
On September 14th, at approximately 3:45 pm, officers were called to the 5600 block of Sargent Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered Wright in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.Wright was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals Young and Wright were known to each other and were involved in a dispute prior to the fatal shooting. Young is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in custody in Washington DC pending extradition to Prince George’s County.
