PGPD Detectives Charge Suspect in Connection with Temple Hills Murder

Detectives with our Homicide Unit have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Temple Hills in September. The suspect is 26-year-old Derrick Edwards of Temple Hills. He is charged with the murder of 23-year-old Davon Graves of Suitland.

On September 26, 2021, at approximately 7:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 4500 block of St. Barnabas Road for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located Graves unresponsive in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim and suspect had been in an argument prior to the shooting. Edwards is charged with first- and second-degree murder, and other related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A court commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status.
