Marquis Gilliard |
Homicide Unit detectives charged a suspect in connection with a recent homicide in District Heights. The suspect is 28-year-old Marquis Gilliard of the 1600 block of Forest Park Drive in District Heights. He is charged with fatally shooting 30-year-old Ernest Bowman II of Northwest Washington.
On July 15th, at approximately 10:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the 8000 block of Ritchboro Road for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Bowman outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and the victim were acquaintances. Gilliard shot and killed Bowman following an argument. Gilliard is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He was taken into custody in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
