PGPD Detectives Identify and Arrest Suspect in Landover Fatal Stabbing

Homicide Unit detectives
identified and charged a man in connection with a fatal stabbing on Saturday. The suspect is 25-year-old Dalerico Vernon of the 2000 block of E. Marlboro Avenue in Landover. The victim is 27-year-old Brian Logan of Landover.

On June 20th, at approximately 1:20 am, patrol officers
who were heading to an unrelated call located Logan in the roadway in the 7100 block of Columbia Park Road. Logan was unresponsive and suffering from stab wounds. The patrol officers and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures on the victim but he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Using various investigative techniques, the suspect was identified and charged. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect stabbed the victim during an argument.

Vernon is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status.
