PGPD Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in Lewisdale

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are investigating a fatal shooting in Lewisdale early Monday morning. The victim is 44-year-old Roberto Santos-Melendez of Hyattsville. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On September 5, 2022, at approximately 12:55 am, patrol officers were called to the 7700 block of 23rd Avenue for a shooting. Once on scene, they discovered Santos-Melendez unresponsive in a convenience store parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
