PGPD Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in Oxon Hill

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into the fatal shooting of 32 year-old John Cruz of Oxon Hill. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Tipsters will never have to give their name.

On December 23, 2021 at about 1:50 am, patrol officers were called to the 5500 block of Livingston Road for a report of a shooting. They discovered Cruz unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a car with gunshot wounds to the body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are looking to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
