PGPD Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in Suitland

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into the fatal shooting of 58 year-old Michael Hawkins of Washington D.C. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Tipsters will never have to give their name.



On February 27, 2022, at approximately 12:10 pm, patrol officers were called to the 3800 block of St. Barnabas Road for a report of a shooting. They discovered Hawkins unresponsive in a bathroom of an apartment with gunshot wounds to the body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.



Detectives are looking to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
