PGPD Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in Town of Glenarden

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are investigatinga fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday night in Glenarden. The victim is 29-year-old Brandon Dixon of District Heights.

On September 3rd, at approximately 9:00 pm, officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department, the Glenarden Police Department and officers with Maryland-National Capital Park Police were called to the 8600 block of McLain Avenue for the sound of gunshots. When they arrived, they discovered Dixon suffering from gunshot wounds near a basketball court at a community center which is on Maryland-National Capital Park property. Dixon was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced
dead.

Detectives are attempting to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that fall within Maryland-National Capital Park Police jurisdiction.
