PGPD Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting

Homicide Unit detectives are working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed a man on Friday. The victim is 20-year-old Deshawn Ramsey of Cockeysville.

On December 27
th, at approximately 9:30 am, patrol officers were called to the 3500 block of Dean Drive in the unincorporated portion of Hyattsville for the report of a shooting. They discovered Ramsey inside of an apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify suspect(s). Preliminary, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
