PGPD Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting

The Homicide Unit is working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a man Friday evening. The victim is a 24-year-old Rudy Perez Gutierrez of Hyattsville. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On April 14, 2023, at approximately 5:15 pm, officers responded to the 2100 block of Guilford Road in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located Perez Gutierrez and another victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Perez Gutierrez was pronounced deceased on the scene. The second victim suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.

Detectives are working to identify a motive.
