PGPD Detectives Investigating Fatal Stabbing in District Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Friday in District Heights. The victim is 46-year-old Laron Mecco West of District Heights.


On February 10, 2023, at approximately 10:55 am, patrol officers were called to the 3700 block of Donnell Drive for a stabbing. Once on scene, they discovered the victim outside suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.


Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive in this case.

I work with his wife and found out about his death this morning. Know nothing about him but after a quick Google search, good riddance. Involved in a long term dog fighting ring where if dogs didn't perform, he would throw them off bridges.
