Detectives plan to canvass a Forestville neighborhood this evening with a new sketch of a suspect wanted for an attempted sexual assault earlier this month.

On August 14th, at approximately 10:20 pm, an adult female waved down one of our officers to report an assault near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Walters Lane. The victim reported that while walking down Walters Lane, a man grabbed her, dragged her into a wooded area and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim fought back. The suspect struck the victim several times causing minor injuries. The victim was able run out of the wooded area and flag down the officer. The suspect ran away.
