PGPD Detectives Release Surveillance Video of Suspect Who Shot and Critically Injured a 12-year-old

Detectives are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the car and the suspect(s) seen in a surveillance video shooting into a business, critically injuring a 12-year-old child Friday evening in Capitol Heights. She remains hospitalized in critical condition. A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered in this case.

The incident occurred around 6:35 pm in the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike on October 8, 2021.

Preliminarily, the investigation revealedthe victim was waiting for food inside of a restaurant when she was shot. Police do not believe the young girl was the intended target. In the surveillance video, the shooter is seen standing out of the car’s sunroof, shooting toward a row of businesses. The car is a dark-colored, four-door sedan with tinted windows and chrome window trim and door handles. The car is possibly an Infiniti. It was last seen heading toward Brooks Drive following the shooting.
