No because nobody cares.
Should I have a poll on the "Dexter Finale"?
I have not missed one episode. I was disappointed that they killed Ms. F*ity F* F*. The finale was just disappointing.
I'd like to see a two hour movie, where Batista finds out about Dex and Deb and who they killed. We need an explanation for the Masuka daughter character. That was a lame addition.
Or something where Harrison gets to grade school and starts serial killing and Dex finds him through the news stories.
I agree. First heard about that show in 2006. And never watched a minute of it, despite getting blow by blow accounts of each episode.
Who cares about public worship of murderers?
A. I never could grasp the concept, that Dexter's desires/urges to kill left him with his love for Hannah, but that he didn't lose his urges to kill while he was married to Rita?
B. And I thought it was ridiculous when Dexter didn't kill Saxon...that just seemed stupid and out of character for Dexter!
A. This is because Hannah KNEW him and he KNEW Hannah. He shared everything about himself with Hannah and she accepted him just the way he was without reservation. He could talk freely, say what he thought, without worry of judgement. This kind of relationship creates a much stronger emotional bond between two people opposed to having to hide certain aspects of yourself or thoughts. There is a great freedom in being able to "take the mask off" and just be who you are.
Dexter cared for Rita but lacked the bond because he was always hiding something from her. He was unable to integrate her into every aspect of who he was.
B. This was a turning point in Dexter's emotional character, finally being able to choose the right decision opposed to following an uncontrollable urge. It was kind of half-shoddily thrown together which really detracted from the overall symbolism of emotional growth. I agree, I wanted him to kill the SOB.
I like your explanations--and I agree with you! I guess there was a part of me that didn't want Dexter to change, and so wanted him to kill Saxon...
Did you think that some things were predictable in the finale--such as Deb dying and Hannah leaving with Harrison? I did...but no one could have predicted Dexter becoming a lumberjack! lol (I hated this ending!)
