How much do ya'll who have dialup pay for it monthly?
I pay 17.95 p/m with earthilink, and wondered if there were others just as reliable, for less.

Oh and i got a new 'puter, the ole gateway pooped out on me after many years of faithful service (RIP)
And the first time i dialed up with my new Compaq :shocking: i know EEK!
i got a whopping 30.6 kbps!!
:lmao: pathetic i know....but WAY better than the 24.8 i WAS getting!

Cripe. DSL is only $12 more or so the ads would claim. How about cable?

As for dial-up, haven't done that since 1998 or so.

I have been using NetZero for years now. $9.95 a month and I use a local # to dial in - but with only one phone line no incoming calls. I spend hours a day online and the connection may drop out once or twice but it can be readily reactivated. Cheap dial up works for me but it's up to what you want - I'm just not in that much a hurry to read what I read.

happyappygirl needs to switch to using starband then. Or one of the local dish providers. We happen to have starband and love it. fast up and down. downtime due to weather is seldom too. the longest we have ever been down was when our modem crashed and we had to wait for the new one to arrive. I think it might have been 1 week. DSL is not a option for us either........

In the neighborhood of $60 to 70 a month. Can't give you a definite amount cause I haven't had to directly pay the bill in a year! (They charge my discover card every month). And this includes insurance on the modem too. Hope it helps!

Would THIS face lie?
I have TQCI and like it....$14.95 a month and they just take it from credit card on file....I do have an extra line phone too....I always run at 49.2 kpbs....Never down....Local number...Very happy with it....I live in da boonies too...No DSL and I don't have cable....I have Direct TV and I could get it through a dish but I think the equipment is like $600.00 then you have a high monthly bill too....
