That the dog that won the Oookacanuba (sp?) dog championship was a German Short Hair Pointer  and that this was the SECOND, yes SECOND time in a row  She was gorguous!!!! If I recall correctly I think the owner said that this was her dog Carly's last show and that she was retiring after this. I was just amazed at how still that dog was, especially for a sporting breed dog!! Hip Hip Horay for the GSP!!!! :backflip: :cartwheel: :backflip:

Eukanuba... Did she win that? I know she just won the Westminster. And yes, she was gorgeous. Looked a lot like another GSP I know, with the darker coloring. :yay:

I was thinking a bloodhound won the Eukanuba.

Thanks for the help spelling it... I was beyond the help of any respectable spellcheck program :roflmao:

Now I'm not sure what contest it was, it was on Sunday on TV (coinciding with NASCAR final laps). They did say something about her winning this two years in a row although the blood hound was absolutely gorgeous. And at the end of the show... her sitting there outside and all the press folks calling her name like a movie star was hillarious "Hey over here!!! Carly!!! Over here!!" and flash bulbs goin off.

As for the other GSP we both know, I've started walking her at night after I get home to spend some quality time with her and for exercise ... but am having a very hard time teaching her to "heel".... she gets way to rambunctious and caught up in smells and I spend the entire time yelling at her "heel!!! heel damnit!!! effn' dog!!! heel!!!" Somehow this is not as relaxing as my neighbors dogwalks. And my heels are constantly dug in trying to walk at a pace without flying in the air while holding the lease to her. :ohwell: Any suggestions? Please???? Pretty please???

Also, took her to Petco this weekend... this time I tied her leash to the cart while she was inside it ... and again had to wheel her all around the store.

Use a halti leash.

What's that? Would that really work for her? She is just way too highstrung...and a little on the dense side. As you know GSP's when working/hunting run rapidly through the field and "flush" the birds out of the forrage, into the air so that they can then be shot by the hunter. Unfortunately, when this GSP gets loose in the yard and decides to practice this, she does so with the chickens and doesn't understand the chickens don'g fly up into the air. Usually she runs after them... they jump about a foot in the air and land again... meanwhile Bailey is running to another who does the same thing and she goes in circles over and over and over trying to "flush" these birds (chickens) up and into the air and the chickens get quite exasperated with her. :lmao: It's quite commical to watch... it's like the dog is saying "up ya' go!!!" nip, nip!! And the chickens are saying WTF are you doing!!??? Stop it!!! :cussing: :killingme:

Yep it was a bloodhound that won the Eukanuba, don't remember who came in 2nd, but the OES was either 2nd or 3rd. The gsp won westminster.
