On the Patuxent River today in the southern area of, side of, PAX River Base, a cigarette type go-fast boat, somehow flipped and broke into a gazillion pieces, and sank. Many people in the water. Voice, witness, on channel 16 called for immediate assistance. First on scene, seen it happen, or its aftermath, a wave runner dude that was also a paramedic. Other boat's arrived to render assistance. DNR and other official personnel arrived as well. All aboard, that were rescued from the water, were injured in some fashion. One so badly, State medivac was called in to transport.

I heard a call around 2:20 on the Calvert scanner for a medivac from the Navy rec center; didn't hear the original call out but wonder if that was what it was for.

About a decade ago a go fast boat broke up close to point patience. The 1 guy didn't resurface for a few days. That had to be agonizing for the family.

I was on patrol the day that happened and involved in the search. I seem to remember they found him 3-4 days later not far from where the crash happened.

The details are few. Of which I've already mentioned. The call out you heard on the scanner, was for this very incident. I was about, (the destruction of this boat), in the vicinity, of Solomons Island when this occurred. By now, there must be official word of the incident, somewhere.
