remove many music videos?
I went looking for Eric Clapton's Pretending and I have seen it twice...now: gone.
I went looking for an REM song...seen it two+ times: ...gone.
what is going on?

I'm not sure if it's related, but I remember reading an article in December that said Warner Music had asked Youtube to pull their videos because the two couldn't agree on royalty rates.

Yes, they have removed tons of videos that were hosted prior to their implementation of the copyright check. Now if a video is found to have any song or video that has copywritten material, then it is deleted. I had at least 9 videos erased because they had songs in them... which is a royal pita since I deleted the hard copies once I uploaded them.

They arent deleted, they're just removed until you either resolve the copyright claim, change the audio or mute it.
However, some major music labels have removed their stuff.

I also noticed they deleted the Nancy Grace stuff and some other shows that I used to catch the next day. Weird.

Then where are they removed to? The videos I had up and got deleted I got the following email:

Dear ------,

When I attempt to upload a video with copywritten content, I get:

at which point I can opt from a list of songs they provide or choose something from my own collection.

Very Disappointed!

So I like watching music videos from the 80's & 90's...NONE of the "Music" cable stations play that style/quality...so I found myself roaming through Youtube for INXS, Annie Lennox, Blues Traveler, Dave Matthews, Joe Jackson, REM, and Go-Gos....now...some of these great song have only been saved as concert versions or some 17 year old playing in his garage.

Some of you music-legal types....is this just a temporary "wait for the ruling" issue or are they gone for good?

Just for fun you 40+yr olds....(you know who you are!)
