Again, I get a phone call to lower my credit card interest rates. The number is on caller ID, so I call right back (after joe schmo hung up on me) the number is disconnected? 30 seconds after getting the call and pressing 1 to speak to a live representative?

Irony? I NEVER carry a balance and pay NO FLIPPING interest!

I want to sue all of their asses and be rich. I am hanging off a ledge here because they have seriously compromised my mental status.

I just use the screening function on the phone. I never answer it until I know who's calling. Most of the time if it's a telemarketer, they hang up before leaving a message. I don't let it get me.

You know what's worse? Now they have telemarketer computers that call you and then tell you to HOLD to speak with someone! Do they really think someone is going to hold?

Yeah, it is funny/sad that I simply don't answer the phone unless I recognize the number. Remember the old days before Caller ID and the internet? What the heck did we do; actually talk to people? Yuuuuuck!

I don't have CallerID either. I can listen to the caller announce themselves. If it's a friend or family, they know to announce themselves and I pick up. Anyone else gets dead air. What's really funny is one woman who calls at least once a week. My answer message clearly says "Please leave a message". You can hear her on the other end saying "Hello ? Hello? HELLLLLOOOOO?" and then finally hanging up. Think she'd learn by now....

I just answer and hang up that takes me out of the call loop for awhile anyway but it does suck that we have a do not call list and they still call
