Camera lands deals look good. I use B&H photo. They are out of NY, very reputable, and fast delivery. May not be the cheapest but will answer any questions and never heard of anyone having a problem with them. I ordered something on a thursday at 10:30am and it was here Friday at 12:30pm using regular shipping.

You have to watch camera stores that advertise low prices, there are a bunch in NY and that area that scam people. Do yourself a favor and if you find a place, do a google search on their name and reveiws....ie..."B&H photo reveiws"
A lot of people have been scammed by some of these bait and switch type deals from online camera stores. The store will advertise a lower price than you can get the camera for anywhere else. After you do the order they will call to confirm your order, but let you know that this camera doesn't come with anything like a battery, a charger, or a strap. All cameras come with these things in the box. They will then charge you a crap load for those items to make up price and much more. Like a $59 charger for $130 or a $39 battery for $99.

Just be careful when trying to get a better price with some of those sites.

Also watch out for "Grey" items.

Camera land is same as JBR stated. Call them, email or whatever, VERY HELPFUL

That appears to be the rule, not the exception for routes between here and NY. I routinely send UPS ground (3-5 day) from here and it arrives on LI next day. Never more than 2 days.

I have had decades of good buying experiences with 47th St Photo. Having said that, I bought my most recent Canon DSLR from a Ritz store locally just because I wanted to have an easier exchange experience if I needed it. Very happy with the Canon. Got an extra telephoto lens from them as well as a handful of filters and a flash. Looked at Best Buy and Circuit City, but Ritz came out on top with price and product availability. Dern, that Canon is a nice piece of hardware.

Online shopping is great if you've looked locally at one. I think you really need to pick it up and play with it first. In my experience you might like the Canon Rebel a little better, it's a little smaller and fits a woman's hands a little bit better. Go to BestBuy or Wally World and try them both out.
