Direct TV issues

I know nothing
Anyone having problems with some channels intermittently not working. One minute Im watching spike TV, then I switch over to another channel, when I switch back, I get no signal.......

Its been happening alot over the last week. I thought it was one of my boxes going. But its happening on the other Direct TV box in the house.

However its not effecting our DTV HD dish and signal.

Let me know what the tech finds is the problem. I wonder if the Sat position has changed, and the dish needs to be realigned

I have had DTV in 2 different houses and have been a customer for the last 5 years. We have never had a problem up until this last week.

I have had a couple of problems but it tured out that the original installer didin't tighten the bolts on the dish so when we had a hard wind it would move. Then there was a hole in the Whatever it is that let rain get in. Both times the service was fine and I'm very satified. My dad had metrocrap and went to direct tv. He's also pleased.

Check your coax connectors or barrel fittings. Corrosion of the connectors or loose connectors are probably your issue.

The main question is when were your dish(s) installed. I worked for the Cable Company for years and the biggest problem with dish's is that if the install was done in late fall, winter or early spring before the foliage on trees grow back, the line of site to the satellite is clean. However, then the leaves grow back or grow taller interferring with the signal. It has also been quite windy lately and may cause trees to blow in the signal path and affect signal strength also. Most Satellite companies are going to try and charge YOU the customer for their installers mistake. Make sure that if the foliage is the problem, that they need to fix it for FREE. Also, keep an eye on your bill. They may tell you they aren't going to charge you but then a $50 service call shows up out of nowhere.

Normally if all of your tv's are affected it could be the dish alignment and/or their splitter may have gone bad.
