Looks like he went with his son at the hands of a drunk driver.

Film director Bob Clark and his son Ariel were killed in an early morning collision along a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades, authorities said.

Clark directed the classic holiday film "A Christmas Story" in 1983 and was the producer of the "Porky's" films, along with about two dozen other features.

Who names their son Ariel? :eyebrow:
The boy's and girl's name Ariel is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "lion of God". Biblical place name for Jerusalem. Literary: Shakespeare gave this name to a prankish spirit who can disappear at will in "The Tempest", and though Shakespeare's Ariel is male, it is more frequently used for girls in modern times.
Also as in Israeli statesman Ariel Sharon. :howdy:
Damn shame about their deaths!

The driver of the sport utility vehicle, Hector Valazquez-Nava, 24, of Los Angeles and passenger Lydia Mora, 29, of Azusa were taken to UCLA Medical Center and treated for minor injuries. Valazquez-Nava was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license and gross vehicular manslaughter.

I'm guessing an illegal maybe?

Sounds like the typical doper arrested in SOMD for a broken headlight, no seat belt, running a stop sign and speeding while rolling a doob behind too dark window shading. And all the while he's on a suspended license, with stolen tags and a broke muffler.

What makes these idiots go out in public like this?

RIP. Clark also directed "Murder by Decree," a Sherlock Holmes movie based on a real-life theory about Jack the Ripper.

Probably a direct result of the Disney movie. Madison was almost unknown as a girl's name before "Splash."
