Disable AOL

How do I disable AOL?

My sister is trying to set up Verizon DSL. She has the equipment and has been notified via email that she is now set up to be connected.

Apparently, she needs to disable AOL (not get rid of it) before she can begin DSL installation.

Every time she has called the help desk, she waits and then is disconnected after 10 minutes. She finally got a person on the line, but he had a thick accent and she couldn't even understand what he was saying!

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Are there really folks that would consider removing or unistalling something they don't have on their computer?
