happy to be living
Today my husband harvested some Italian basil that grew wonderfully this summer, The big leaf, regular basil did not fare as well. I got out the fresh garlic, olive oil, parm and asiago cheeses and walnuts and whipped up a huge bowl of pesto to freeze. Last year, I froze small sections in little bags and stored in a larger bag and pulled out small bags to use on home made pizza and occasionally with pasta. I wish I had tasted this batch before I got too much going. Unfortunately, this Italian basil that was grew so well and was wonderfully aromatic is quite bitter. I will put it in the fridge and let it meld over night before bagging up. Maybe it will taste better to me tomorrow :disappointed:
