Anyone ever done the 'Big Red Boat'? We are leaving at the end of January to go on the cruise. Wanted to hear some experiences, and other such things. Things that are must do's and dont's.

uhh..wasn't the big red boat decomissioned? that used to be the disney cruise ship way back, but they now have their own line of ships. i did the big red boat twice (after it was no longer disney...once looney tunes, once sea animals), but never the newer disney cruises. which are you referring to?

I have been on one of the Disney Boats. I thought the Big Red Boat was a different one.

It was great. My kids liked the Ship better than Disney World. When you board run down to the daycare facility and they give you a pager. If they have any issues when they have your kids they page you. It also works while at the Castaway Key Island and at the other ports as well.
It was awesome!!!!!!!

It reminds me of being stuck in a big floating play pin with all those kids running around on board....

We did the Disney Magic a few years ago. It was awesome. And we didn't even have any kids with us. Now, when my daughter is a little older I am definately going to book a trip again with them.

This was meant to be a joke......I would like to take my family on a cruise, maybe when my grandson is a little older, and I get rich...this sounds like a lot of fun!!!

Was on 'The Big Red Boat' twenty years ago. As another poster said, thought they were not in service any longer??? Disney now has the Wonder and Magic ships. Was on the Wonder this past July, great cruise. Don't miss the entertainment.

Aha! I have an answer. The Big Red Boat I was on was the Oceanic...I guess after Premier cruiselines shut down in 2000, they sold the ships...

The Oceanic (Big Red Boat I) is still sailing today for Spain based Pullmantur Cruises. The Big Red Boat II, formerly Eugenio Costa, was put up for sale and was laid up in Freeport, Bahamas. It had no potential buyers and remained there until 2005. It was eventually sold to the breakers and was scrapped in Alang, India in late 2005. The Big Red Boat III, formerly Carnival Cruise Line's Festivale was also sold for scrap.

OK. I only put the 'big red boat' because that is what I knew they were called at one time. I dont know "which" ship we are going on- as it was a gift from my parents (we are all going together). Sorry for any confusion.

However, we are going on the 3-4 day cruise and stopping in Nassau and Half Moon Cay.

I hear half moon cay is awesome!! You might see tiny sharks in the water. Atlantis is in Nassau if you're up for a water park. FYI - if you want to tour the aquarium at Atlantis, go after 7pm (if you'll be there). That is when the security guards close shop and go home.

What questions do you have ?? I've been on a few Disney Cruise Line, sailing on both the Disney Wonder and the Magic. Can't wait to go again!!

I'm planning on it for Summer of 2010.
