Disney tosses Santa

The happiest place on Earth just said "no" to the jolliest man on Earth.

Walt Disney World resort gave an ultimatum to a Santa lookalike who was visiting the park Sunday, warning him to ditch his festive gear or get out.

J.D. Worley, 60, is used to being mistaken for Santa Claus. But it had always been something that brought him joy, until a recent visit to Disney World.

Rest of the story

I say we kill the mouse! Jeez, the guys was only trying to keep the little kids hope alives and the park management had to go screw it up. I understand they have their own Santa but they could have worked around it somehow.

Can this be considered profiling? :lmao:

Santa is a character in the Christmas Parade in The Magic Kingdom. They don't allow adults in costume in the park unless it is Halloween.

Good for Disney!! Who is to say this guy doesn't get is jollies off of little kids. We do Disney every summer while visiting family. They did the right thing with this guy. He should stick to his "charity events" and family stuff. I think it is ridiculous that people are upset over this. Wake up- there are adults just like this Santa waiting to get their paws on your kids. It's creepy that a grown man spent $60+ to go to Disney to get kids to hug him. Whether he has good intentions or not, it still seems a bit wierd.

You want to know what sucks? What sucks is that we live in a world where the reality is that we have to think of things like maybe he is a pedophile. I even found myself raising and eyebrow once I read that. God this sucks. Hope and pray he was just a good natured guy.

Can I please move to another planet now.

The quote from Disney makes it sound like they created, and copyrighted the character Santa Claus.

Look at it this way. If you had a Department store and you had hired a Santa to put on a fake beard and play Santa and this guy showed up looking like the real one , dont you think it would confuse the kids? I dont imagine the guy playing Santa would have been too thrilled either. The guy should have spoken to Disney about a job for a couple of days , he shouildnt have entered the park dressed as Santa when he knew they were paying one. Thats my opinion for what its worth.

I am sure this fellow gets a lot of joy from making kids smile, but he himself would probably get a little tiffed if he were in a Parade as Santa and another showed up saying he was the real Santa. The guy was raining on Disney's parade.

By the way there are other times when costumes are allowed in Disney, gay day being one of them. Something Disney really should be ashamed of.

I thought he was only wearing a red shirt, jeans and a santa hat. Not that taking the hat off helped much. Jeez, the guy even said he didn't want to disappoint the kids by saying he wasn't.

I guess he knew he would get the attention but jeez, whats a bearded white haired guy to do?

Wow i never thought people could somethings into context in such different ways, whos to say one of these department store santas isnt a ped on his way over the edge. Maybe the guy feels good to bring joy into kids lives, maybe he likes to see them smile, its not like he was having them sit on his lap. If it was such a big problem then they should have said soemthing at the gate before he entered the park not half way through the day when they where there for several hours. Now i do get why they made him take the suit off because he was going around saying he was the real santa but its not like these kids where ever going to come face to face with this guy again and he would have to explain why he wasnt in full uniform. Maybe they where mad there santa wasnt as good as this guy. Whats the guy supposed to do when a kid ask if hes santa "no im a fake just like the other 2 million guys that dress up, and your parents make you believe in him". Its not like there going to loose any money.

I am sure they are working on that

LOL

Maybe someone should dress up as a pirate, id like to see them say that the pirate is a disny created character.

His only costume was a hat, the rest of the "costume" is his real look. White hair, beard and belly. Do you think you'd have a problem being told to shave and get a haircut before going to the park?

Do you believe for one minute that this guy didnt go to Disney to be noticed by the kids? He was on an ego trip to begin with. He was there playing Santa on his own for his own purposes, whatever they were, probably ,innocently, he just enjoys it. Thats fine , but he went to the wrong place and inserted himself. Disney was right to ask him to cut the act.
