We have a visitor coming from overseas for 1 month over the holidays, would love to provide her with a cell phone to use while here. Short of giving up one of the family phones are there any alternatives? She should only need to dial 3 or 4 numbers. Would feel much safer if she had some available communication.

Just go to Walmart and but one of those disposable trac phones. they are pretty cheap and you buy minute cards for them.
