Divine Liturgy for Funeral

About how long is a Divine Liturgy, followed by a Panachida? An elderly friend of mine passed away on the 13th, with the services to be held this Saturday @1300. From what I've read, this seems to be an Orthodox-type service.

It appears my entire afternoon will be occupied with this event. He and his family are worth it.

Art was a good man, and he will be missed by his family and friends.

Sorry for your loss. It will be long. There will be incense; a lot of it. There will be chanting. The service will be beautiful. Depending on the size of the Orthodox Church, there could be a lot if standing if it is a smaller church--some have no chairs or pews.

Sorta figured that's the way it would be. Thanks for the info. I read up on it, but could not get an approximate time frame. I guess it may be up to the family on how extensive it will be.

I plan on being there for a while.
