DNR Extends Regulated Shooting Area Season

Annapolis, MD (April 1, 2010) — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has extended the Regulated Shooting Areas (RSA) hunting season by one month. This will allow hunting on licensed RSAs to continue through April 30, 2010.

The inclement weather and deep snows this winter coincided with the peak of RSA use, impacting these and other associated small businesses.

“Extending the season allows these rural businesses to capture some lost revenue,” said Pete Jayne, DNR Associate Director for Game Management. “The one month extension is a great opportunity for both novice and veteran hunters to experience this style of hunting.”

Got Email From Bob Today...

The hunting season has only been extended for shooting pen released quail, pheasant, chukars, Hungarian partridge and tower-release mallards on licensed Regulated Shooting Areas. If you have any more questions feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email.

Thanks.
