DO NOT buy flowers from Victoria's florist in Solomons!!!!

My friend from Sweden called and somehow got hooked up with Victoria's florist in Solomon's.

Yesterday, when I came home from work, I found my bouquet of gerber daisies hanging from my doorknocker. The bouquet was hanging upside-down, so the flowers fell out of the tissue paper holder, and were blowing around my front porch. I gathered the flowers and brought them inside, the petals were crushed, some of the buds were just barely hanging onto the stems by a fiber... they were in pretty bad shape.

So I called the florist, and the lady tried to give me some sob story about how thier driver's dad was on death's door. I told her I sympathize, but he could have just LAID the flowers on the porch, but by hanging them on the knocker, they fell about 3 feet and got damaged a lot more. She agreed, and said that the owner would call me back the next day. I gave her my work phone number and waited for the call.

By 3 pm, I still hadn't heard anything, so i called the florist, and the woman tells me to leave the crushed flowers on the front porch, they'd replace the damaged ones. I was like, ok, but when I hung up, I started to think, by the time I got the replacements, I'd have 1/2 a fresh bouquet and 1/2 old. Ummmmm, not quite what I think my friend had in mind when she CALLED long distance and then paid for the flowers.

So I called them back and told them that arrangement really wasn't acceptable. The owner got irate and basically told me they couldn't replace all the flowers. I told her that it was not right, and she hung up on me!!! I called back, and before I could get out that I wanted to speak with a manager, she hung up on me again!!! I couldn't believe it. When I tried to call back AGAIN, she wouldn't answer the phone!!!

My officemate then called on her cell, and the woman answered and basically started to scream at her (me) saying she couldn't replace my flowers. My officemate was like, ummmm, I just wanted to speak to an owner, I have a wedding coming up (lie). She then got the manager/owner's name and the name of the yeller.

When I called back, they answered, and I asked again to speak to someone who could help me, that I'd been hung up on and needed to be dealt with professionally. They put me on hold... and then hung up on me again!!!

So I called BACK a 5th time. I again said I wanted to speak to someone who would help me and the woman told me they would replace all of my flowers, they just wanted me to stop calling!!! i am supposed to leave the flowers out on my porch and they're going to pick them up and replace them on Thursday. I guess I won't hold my breath.

This is how they run a business??? Just beware if you order from them! they are NOT professional or very nice!!!! =(

That's incredibly sad. My family has never been so badly treated by any florist. It's utterly unacceptable. I'm sorry. I really don't know how you oughta call to try to get any sort of satisfaction.

That bites. :huggy: :flowers: At least your friend meant well by the flowers. I'd leave it at that and never do business with Victoria's. I know I won't.

However, I have been using My Florist ever since moving to the DC metro area and I adore them. They even send me reminders of birthdays and occassions that I have bought flowers from them before. I also have used them for out of state arrangements as well, all their partner businesses have done an excellent job. www.myflorist.com 888.255.9500

Maybe through FTD? If so, she should call them and complain. If they get enough complaints, maybe they'll stop using this particular florist..and you may get another bouqet of flowers.

Be a little more specific. I thought there was only one Solomons Florist. Which one is the faker?

Dickson's is the faker. They had a banner up with their phone number and "Solomon's Florist" on it. They have since cut the banner to remove the "Solomon's Florist".

Dickson's is a new florist. Solomon's Florist is the florist near Woodburn's. It has been under new ownership for about a year and a half to two years. The previous owner had let things go a bit. I have had very good experience with Solomon's more recently. I am a bit prejudiced since my wife works there. On the other hand, because of that, I have an "inside" look and the owner and designers are very conscientious about their arrangements and deliveries. I have seen them throw away flowers that looked OK to me but they thought were not fresh enough, and they will not leave flowers. The delivery people leave tags to say they attempted to deliver with a redelivery or call back number kind of like UPS.
