Do we need a new Speaker of the House?

Johnsons worked with democrats to come up with a 1500 page document that was so filled with Democrat pork that it was beaten back.
Why did he work with Democrats instead of his own party? Trump advised against this bill , but he put it out anyway. Of course an incoming former President cannot give orders to a Speaker, but damn, Johnson didn't listen. Will he listen when Trump is President.
Some believe that getting rid of Johnson could give the Speakers chair to Hakeem Jeffries. Would that really be any worse than a Johnson who won't listen?
( and yes: I use the word Johnson in it's penile terms) Is there another republican who can do a better job? I would hope so but can he get elected?

That bill by the way gave The House members a 40% raise. Isn't that a bit large ? 40% ?

I guess we will see, it appears that republican House members are frightened of the Speaker's job and that is how we got Johnson to begin with, no one else wanted it.

Mike Johnson is a wheeler-dealer politician, otherwise he'd never be Speaker. Unfortunately, like most Republicans, he's a coward who doesn't know how to get the better end of the deal. If We the People elected the Speaker, Johnson wouldn't have even been considered; but since they are elected by the Swamp, here we are.

I think as far as choices go Johnson is okay, but if it were up to me I'd have chosen Chip Roy or MTG.

The problem with such a slim majority is that a few Reps can hold things up. Especially Speaker election. Unfortunately, the moderate (willing to compromise with the Dems) Reps far outnumber the conservative Reps, so no Chip Roy or MTG will ever be elected as speaker.

You bet. There's a ton of stuff you could spend that money on that would actually benefit us.

Just for clarity Speaker Johnson does not sit on the Appropriations Committee. It was the 61 members of the committee that created that monstrosity. Johnson put it to the floor and it was denied. https://appropriations.house.gov/about/membership

Now as to whether the Speaker should take their marching orders from the Executive - No way in Hell. There is a reason that the government is divided into three co-equal branches and that should stay that way.
