Do/would you eat at restaurants alone?

I do if I happen to find myself hungry when I'm out and about, but I wouldn't make a point to leave my house to eat at a restaurant by myself. I'm burnt out on restaurants in general and prefer eating at home. Sometimes I'll get carryout stirfry and hot/sour soup from the Chinese buffet and bring it home but I wouldn't sit there and eat because it's boring - at home I can read or watch TV while I eat.

This was a topic on a local FB page, people think it's extreme bravery to eat at a restaurant alone.

Just sneakin' around....
I used to a lot, but not so much in the past few years. Covid gave me a push to not go out and now it's the norm to not go out.

Even if I go on travel, I usually get take out and eat on MY schedule. I have gone solo to breakfast places and sat down, but that was mainly to meet the waitresses. ;)

happy to be living
Where I occasionally like breaking bread with friends while eating out, I also often eat alone and prefer to not have to converse with a mouthful of food! I always have something to read with me and usually ignore those around me. Unless there is a screaming kid or brats allowed to run around. Then I rush and try to get out of there before someone calls the cops to report a woman screaming at a mother and her devil spawn for ruining her peaceful meal

YA KNOW....... if one dines alone and has to use the bathroom the waiter/waitress may think you are skipping out. In fact, that's a ploy I've used 12 times so far. "ahhh..... NO I wasn't walking out, ........ uhhh I am a woman trapped in a man's body and I wasn't sure what urinal to use....."

or visa-versa...

Most often when I eat out alone it's when I have a longer lunch break at work and don't want to eat with everyone I've been working with all day, or when I'm traveling by myself. I'm quite good with it and find it relaxing. I don't want to eat in the car if it's fast food and I've been in the car all day, and don't want to eat in a hotel room with plastic utensils and no table and chair when I want a nice meal while traveling.

I only had one meal at Carrabba's once, in Bowie...... There was way too much cheese and tomato sauce for me and I had nausea for about 24 hours. But I know sometmes its just the staff or cook, but just not trying any time soon.
