St. Mary's Animal Welfare League (SMAWL) Low Cost Rabies Clinic

ONGOING ~~~~MARCH thru NOVEMBER

The clinic will be held every second Monday of the month at the St. Mary's County Fairgrounds on Rte. 5 in Leonardtown from 6-8pm. The cost for the rabies vaccination is $10 for all animals including horses. Horses do not have to leave their trailer to receive the shot.

Time: 6 PM
Duration: 2 hours

Brought to you by SMAWL.
$10.00 per shot.
All dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier.
Dogs with aggressive tendencies are to be muzzled/remain in owner's vehicle.
All cats/ferrets must be in carriers.
Animals must be at least 16-weeks old.
Three year vaccinations require a current rabies certificate.
Tags cannot be accepted.
Horses $10.00 per shot.
Horses do not have to leave trailers to receive the vaccination.

Wow that is a pretty good turn out.
Did any ponies show?

I am gonna bring my baby filly in oct/nov she will be ~6/7months then.
She is growing like a weed, and she is soooo freindly.
I also have 2 other youngsters due for Rabies in Nov/Dec.
I may bring them too.

Last two clinics scheduled for the year:

No ponies/horses showed up. We had LOTS of cute puppies come through. Many scared kitties...poor cats were like PLEASE remove me from the depth of hell. Dr. T is awesome giving rabies shots to the dogs and cats.

It is so cheap to get it done there. They have it down to a science.
When I bought my girl Mocha there, I just pulled the trailer in the side entrance and drove down to the end where there was plenty of room to turn around, and parked right in front of the building that they were in. Left her right in the trailer while I went to get in line to pay for the shot. Didn't take much time at all. I stood inline for 10 mins behind some very cute puppies and scared kittys. When it was my turn Dr T. came out to Give Mocha her shot. Piece of cake. And beats the heck out of a 80-90 dollar farm call.
and I think most vets charge about 14-20 dollars for the Rabies shot.
