Doe anyone remember Mike Warnke?

I used to listen to his comedy routines back in the mid 80s but heard his whole bit about being a Satanist and high priest of a Satanist coven was fabricated. I've read conflicting stories about whether it was all a lie or not. He was a hilarious comedian though. And his book “The Satan Seller” was really good and believable.

So what is up with this guy?

I have a couple of his albums; vinyl.

I don't know what he is doing these days. His comedy was really funny and it, of course, was not vulgar.

The one sketch he did that was not funny but was an amazing description of Jesus being crucified would make me cringe thinking the agony that Jesus went through for me. I could feel every blow of the hammer driving the nails.

I listened to several of his albums in the early 80s and saw him twice in the late 80s and thought he was hilarious. Except in one concert he got all serious about something and began to get all preachy about runaways or something. Geez, Mike, lighten up, that's why we came to the concert.

But since then I heard he got into some trouble and was reprimanded by his church, but says he has repented. I have no idea what he's doing now. I don't hear much about him anymore. :shrug:
