I'm in California
Thanks for the info. For some reason I thought the upfront costs were more, and I didn't want to invest much until actually trying it.
I was a swimmer and like to run, but I was thinking about trying something different. My goal is to tone and to help with anxiety/stress. I've heard that yoga can be great for both.
I'll ask my daughter -- she lives in St. Mary's (Leonardtown area) & I think has done some yoga down there somewhere.
All you need is a mat, a t-shirt & some loose fit pants (yoga, sweats, whatever). Minimal investment to start. I just happen to have this goal of finding the perfect-fitting yoga pant (difficult when you're short) so I've got a bit more invested
.
Yoga is very, very, very good for anxiety & stress. That's one of the reasons that I love it and do it so frequently. One class per week will help in this area. I started doing it more because it was so helpful in that area (and because I'm not self-disciplined enough to make myself do it on my own
). Try it! You will love it!
I'll give you my yoga teacher's spiel about "runners" and yoga. If you are a runner, it is very beneficial as runners tend to have shorter hamstrings from running. Yoga will help you lengthen those hamstrings so you can bend over & touch your toes easily. (Yoga teacher was a runner when she started yoga years ago so she knows!)
