good afternoon everyone
can someone tell me how i could get rid of little sugar ants in my house?
It is getting warmer out so now ia m getting ants bad.

Sprinkle some Boric Acid around where they walk. They take it back to the colony and the colony dies.

Sell your house. We've been battling them for 3 years. We've sprayed the yard, we've sprayed inside, we've tried baby powder, vinegar, Terro, and just about every other remedy and nothing has even slowed them down.

Of course, it doesn't help that our whole town is practically one giant sandy ant hill. :cds:

Try cinnamon for some reason ants won't cross through it...

I don't really know how to get rid of them for good but you should check out Maxforce Ant Bait Stations or other places that might sell Maxforce products. I worked in a Pest Control office in New York City and this stuff would never stay in the store. People came by like crazy to buy them. Especially the roach baits, but anything Maxforce, really. It is more expensive then buying some things at the grocery or hardware store, but these products are awesome.

In the meantime, a good tip for keeping them away from the foods you have in the house: I make a moat. I learned this with my grandma, when I saw her filling up a shallow dish with water, then putting a "tower" in the middle of the water and putting the cake on top of that "tower". I think it used to be a tall cup or something that would be strong enough. The point was to make it impossible for the ants to touch any edge of the dish in which the cake was. Unless they learned how to make some boats or some bridges ... :killingme
I do that to my cat's food. We started seeing some ants in his bowls and after I did that, they disappeared.

I hope it helps.

I dont know if it works, but i was told to wipe down the path the ants take with rubbing alcohol, supposed to erase the trail they use and cant find their way back to the nest. Never tried it so i dont know for sure.

I had problems with fire ants in Fl. Try to find where they're coming in at on the outside and scrub/spray the area with amonia, it will eliminate and cover up the 'chemical trail'. You may have to go under the crawl space to sray down the area under your house if that's the way their getting in. Seal the cracks and holes into your house as best you can.

It doesn't hurt to clean the inside of your house and wash as much as you can with the amonia.

Yep, the indoor and outdoor liquid baits work for me. No fuss, no muss, put'em out, and within two days, they are gone.

Ant Problem? Terro = Ant Control Solutions

not sure what kind of ants i had before, but i got some Terro, and at first there were MILLIONS of ants going for this stuff, very freaky, but they were ALL gone in 2 days. and never returned.

Terro is an awesome product. I had ants last spring and and I started using the Terro liquid baits. The ants disappeared and I have not seen any since. I highly recommend this for ant problems.

If you spray nonstick cooking spray under the ledges of your counters and on the outside of pet food bowls it helps. Ants hate that stuff!
I dont like to use bug spray around cooking/eating areas.

I also used it on my hummingbird feeders. I sprayed the hanger and the outside of the glass and the ants left them alone finally.

Terro also comes in a spray can with a small strawlike thing to stick in the nozzle. It works pretty good for getting in those tiny areas.

Good luck. We have tried just about everything. We used a pest control co last year and it helped more than anything else we've ever tried.
I now know its a huge problem in our area after talking to a man working at sneads. Poor guy was trying to help about six customers at the same time- all having ant issues.
