Know anyone that wants an older dog? As some of you already know my grandmother passed away over the weekend, leaving behind her dog. Tanner is the sweetest dog, I just love him and would love to keep him myself but...
1. he doesn't get along with other dogs
2. he is older so really needs someone who is home more than I, an older retiree would be best for Tanner....

Anyone have any ideas?

Did you find a home for Tanner? How old is he? I presume he's housebroken? Any special needs?

No home for Tanner yet.....I am gonna guess that he is like 7, yes he is housebroken, and just a wonderful sweet dog.

He is still at the kennel, they have been wonderful through this, Mom says if she can't find him a home by Friday, she is gonna bring her home and try to VERY SLOWLY introduce him into her home with her two dogs, hopefully they will be ok eventually....

Got a pic? How much does he weigh? I wonder how he would do with a super-spoiled house cat?

I've been wanting a dog, but I don't want to go through all the BS that the agencies put you through with the applications, inspections and background checks.

Only problem based on your description above would be the hours that I work. Other than that, he would be the king of the house.

I actually have to go to grandma's this evening and do a few things, so I will see if I can find a pic of Tanner to scan in for you........actually scratch that I will scan one in for you, she has one framed in the living room, I remember now....Tanner was her baby, lol
