Dog Bed

Anyone have any suggestions on a dog bed. For some reason everytime my dog gets sick she does it on her pillow instead of the floor. The pillow I currently have has a removable liner but if I'm not there they leave the sickness on the pillow and it gets soaked up in the pillow. Does anywhere have waterproof pillows? Or do you have a suggestion on a good pillow that will last?

TIA :huggy:

I like the ones without a cover- the one I have is a thick blanket-like bed with corderoy on one side and faux-lambskin on the other. You can throw the whole thing in the washer.

That's what Moo has as well!

Dog bed? Somebody will have to explain that concept to Biscuit and Bubba. They now have a contest to see who can go to bed first to get the prime spot on my bed.

Abbey sleeps in her crate and I have a covered crate pad in there. It's egg crate foam covered with the zippered fleece cover. I wash the whole thing. I don't dry the foam in the dryer though, but it doesn't take long to dry.

Put the removable liner in a trashbag and ducttape it closed, then put it in the cover. That way, nothing can get thru to it. I'd suggest getting some of the barrel liners (super heavy duty) to use, rather than a standard green hefty bag.

She sleeps in her crate at night and that has an old comforter in it. I can shove it right in the washer. The bed she has now I got from target and it sucks. It was really fluffy when it was new but now it's all flat and crappy. I found Wag Bags on Petsmart.com It doesn't say if the whole thing is washable though. I got her a new automatic waterer and the thing was a piece of crap. It left water lying all over the floor. I took it back and got a Le Bistro one. Much better.

Nope. But I have pet sat a few. You have problems even without faulty equipment!

Bonus of using the trashbag is that the bag keeps the dog hair from getting into the stuffing, so all you have to wash is the cover, and then the entire bed is nice and clean again. May want to wipe the trashbag down with cleanser whenever you wash the cover though (no point in putting a clean cover back on a dirty trashbag).

Thanks for the great advice. I know that when we move (next week) she will definetly use the pillow for accidents since the upstairs is all hardwood and the downstairs in all tile. No carpet for her to use. They are so weird about that stuff.

No she was spayed when she was 6 and it weakened her bladder. (This was before I adopted her). She leaks. She only gets an upset stomach every once in a while and that is normal. I think she can feel the stress in the house right now.

I know the feeling. I'll get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and by the time I get back, one of the dogs is in my spot. They waste no time.

I have an English bulldog and every drink of water is like a rain storm on my floor as she walks around, all that's left in her path are puddles. Poor thing gets more water trapped in her lips than she gets down her throat.
