dog grooming

I am wondering if any home-based dog groomers would be willing to teach me how to groom my miniature poodle? She hasn't been in for a professional cut for awhile. We have been scissor trimming her but I need advice/instruction as to 1) type of clippers and 2) how to give her the puppy cut. Thanks in advance!!

The "puppy cut" is a long scissored clip..I am assuming (I may be wrong) that you are talking about more of a summer clip..

So I would get a set of A5 compatable clippers (Andis or Oster) and two or 3 blades..a 10 and a 7skip and a 7finishing...

10 on the face feet tail and tummy..

7s on the body...

then bath and blow dry

then 7F on the body..


or do the FFTT then bath and blow dry then go over her..this is the best if you do her regularly and do not let her get super long or matted ..

Paso - we have a toy poodle and a pomeranian who need a groomer. How much would you charge for each of them? The poodle needs it much more often than the pom.
