SAN ANTONIO -- Amber Flores said she wants animal lovers -- and parents -- to be aware of her dog's nearly fatal encounter with a bottle of Gorilla Glue.

About two weeks ago, Flores said, her normally active dog, Princess, seemed to lose her appetite.

"Everything was fine except she wasn't eating and she wasn't going to the restroom," said Flores.

Flores then noticed teeth marks on a bottle of Gorilla Glue and realized that Princess had eaten about an ounce of glue, she told San Antonio television station KSAT.

What she didn't realize is that the glue had grown to the size of a grapefruit -- weighing nearly 1 pound --- inside Princess' stomach.

:yikes: Keep this stuff out of reach of pets and children!

What she didn't realize is that the glue had grown ...

After the first time I used it (figured it was like Elmers only better) I came back to check if it was dry, only to find this big glue bubble that was rock solid where I didn't want one. :ohwell:

This stuff is terrible!!

One of my dogs got into some Gorilla glue yesterday and it almost destroyed me! He started vomiting yesterday morning (he never does) and I knew something was wrong. I had a very small 2oz bottle and I found it on the floor still on it's side with only half the contents missing, he just licked it up off the floor after he chewed the top off. I have a big bar counter that is 48inches high and he must have stood up and just knocked it off. To make a long story short he ate about 2 tablespoons, it foamed up in his belly and hardened. Today he went in for emergency surgery and they removed a football sixed hard chunk of the foamy glue. He is a 75lb Pit that is the friendliest dog you'll ever meet. The glue is very attractive to dogs and tastes like maple syrup and peanuts. It is VERY dangerous! My other 2 dogs (a rottie and a dobie) didn't get near it and they are fine. Throw this stuff away or lock it up! This bill cost me an $1800 lesson!! He is a very healthy dog and he is going to be fine! And by the way, hello all!!

Gorilla Snot.

That's snot funny. :smack:

Sorry to hear about your dog, Crabby, but fortunately it sounds like he's going to be okay. :yay:

I don't have any of that glue stuff in my house but I know how easy it is for a pet to get ahold of something they shouldn't. I heard one of my dogs chewing on something hard in the house a couple of days ago - it was a Bic lighter and from where I don't know. :jameo:

Thanks! I pick him up today and I'm sure the recovery time will be quite a while.

Angus is drinking plenty of water and eating his special food with no problems. Thank God he survived!

huh.... makes you wonder why he would be attracted to the glue in the first place. Glad Angus is going to be okay. My dog ate a piece of wood about 6 months ago, cost, I dunno, $1200 but she is totally worth it!

How do they know what it tastes like until they eat it?

Glad your dog's okay, Clark, but how did he get the glue in the first place? My Gorilla Glue is out in the garage with the rest of my home repair crap.

I love Gorrila glue, its great but like all products of this nature you have to be careful with it around your pets.

I was using it and had it on my bar. He must've jumped up and knocked it off, and chewed the top off. I found the bottle on the floor by my table. This was the little tiny bottle and there was still about half left. I immediately googled it and went into a state of panic. I read about the taste in the articles, it's deadly stuff. I threw it away and will never have it in the house again. Elmers wood glue for me from now on!

The mighty Al-Sonsie!
I never heard of that glue. What would it be used for?

Woodworking and furniture making. Hubby has a few bottles out in his shop, which thankfully since we moved is no longer our garage! I don't think there is anything in the garage the dog hasn't chewed on.

My dog ate a piece of wood

What kind of wood?
My dogs drag out sticks from the woods and chew on them.
Almost impossible for us to get all the sticks.

I just figured they were getting some fiber. (j/k)

What a cutie! Thank you for the PSA, we have it in our garage, and both of our dogs frequent in and out of the garage. Glad to hear he is doing better. :huggy:

It actually looked like the wood mulch. Or a piece of a stick that was chewed down to look like a piece of mulch. Every time she gets tired, I worry if she is just tired or ate another piece of wood.
