Mine used to do about the same thing except she would lay down in the passenger seat and try to lay her head across the console and either paw at me or nose my hand.

I got a kick out of it but I finally broke her from the habit by ignoring her. The more attention I gave her the more she wanted and she became too big of a distraction.

Was cute though.
