Okay, so I have a new puppy, well he is about 15 weeks now..but I can't get this dog to listen. I've had other dogs in the past, and never had a problem with them..This one is bites at the kids and everyone else. and he gets so wild .. I never had this before.

so I'm looking for a Dog trainer in St. Mary's county.....

If any one could give me some names of trainers to call that would be great..

Thanks

From what I was told he is a german shepard/lab mix....

Humm...One would think a mix like that would be pretty easy to train. Good luck!

I got him from the farmer market.....I got alot of frowns from people when I told them that...
when I got him home he got really sick, so he was on meds for the first month we had him home, and we had to kept him in the crate most of the time cause he was getting sick all over the house..I know that he is trainable. I think I got him more cause I felt sorry for him, but I do love him and I know he can be a really good dog, I just need help with him...

i have to say i frowned too when i read where you got him. my coworker got a "boxer" from there. they've had her for months now and they've already forked out about 2 grand on this dog and i'm pretty sure this dog will always be sick. some of those dogs actually come from an amish farm in PA. thats what she found out about hers. it was a big mess.

It sucks that this goes on, but I think you deserve credit for loving him and hanging in there.

Well I got news for ya, you don't only get sick animals from the market. I have had my share of sick animals that I have gotten off of the ads on this site! My most resent was the $900.00+ I had to spend on a free kitten I got from here. She was a barn kitten. I knew I was in trouble the minute the woman said her mother was a barn cat, but I couldn't leave her behind. She is now a goreous 9 mo. old, and as sweet as she can be. So even if you do get a sick animal from the ads or the market, if you don't save them who will?

Its just that when people buy animals like that, that havent been properly breeded and health checked, they just encourage the people breeding them to keep on doing it.

I totally agree. It just leaves you in a difficult position. You see them, you want to touch them and smell the little kitty/puppy smell... You think you can work through all of it - until you get home and the nightmares begin!

Luckily, I have just enough dog for my house or I may have left the market or Petco or wherever a time or two with another rugrat in tow... :roflmao:

I do seriously hope folks will stop buying them, but i'm also afraid for the litters.. :frown:

I have another dog that I got 8 years ago from a breeder in Florida, and she has always been sick. I know that I have spent over 3000 on her in the past 8 years that is not counting all the carpet cleanings and what not..she is on 14 pills a day..And she keeps going strong..
I had another dog that I got from the pound, and the dog was a great dog with listening and playing ball and he was never sick, but when I had my son, he hated him and I had to give him up..
I have a great dog now, he is just wild and I want to learn how to train him to settle down a bit....cause I have never had a wild dog like this..
I know I jumped the gun when I brought him, and that these breeders out there keep on breeding and they shouldn't be...But then on the other hand I feel that I saved the little guy..
I take good care of him and he has been fixed already.....I just feel bad that I couldn't had started all of this sooner, but the little guy was so sick... :howdy:
